Roasted beef with coconut


The Indonesian version of goulash.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients for: 2 people

  • 250 g beef fillet or sirloin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander (fresh or dried)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp lemongrass
  • 75 g grated coconut


  • Cut the beef into thin slices. Peel and finely chop the garlic and onion. Cut the peppers into small cubes.
  • Process 3 tablespoons Kokosmilch with ginger, coriander, lemongrass, Sambal Oelek , garlic and onion into a paste.
  • Heat the wok and sauté the paste briefly. Add the pieces of meat and peppers and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  • Finally, pour in the remaining Kokosmilch .
  • Briefly roast the grated coconut in a coated pan while stirring and serve sprinkled over the beef.
